Jason English grew up in his dad’s personal injury law practice in Tarrant County, graduated from Texas A&M before getting his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Initially he worked in his father’s firm on personal injury, wills and probate, as well as, family law cases.
Soon thereafter he took his father’s advice and worked for District Attorney’s Offices to obtain trial expertise. Jason English was an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases from 2002-2017 in Cameron, Hays and Travis Counties.
After 15 great years as a prosecutor, he has returned full circle to handling personal injury, will and probate cases, as well as, practicing criminal defense. He counts his father’s sage advice for getting years of courtroom experience that translates well for his clients.
Mr. Slaughter then served for almost 13 years in the Travis County District Attorney's Office where he prosecuted a wide variety of felony offenses in District Court, Juvenile Court and before the Grand Jury.
In 2017, after he left the Travis County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Slaughter began defending Central Texans accused of criminal conduct.
In his spare time, Mr. Slaughter serves on the Board of Directors for Colin's Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing childhood drownings, and in the Texas State Guard where he serves as a medic, search and rescue technician, and in disaster response/preparedness/relief.
